Join us this August as we go on-air with Lord Mayor, Councillor Nuatali Nelmes, and Regional General Manager of Southern Cross Austereo, Ashley Myatt, at the awesome new headquarters of hit106.9 – the number one station for those under 40 in Newcastle and the Hunter.
Our special guest speakers will be speaking on “Contributing to a Greater Purpose”, sharing their insights and experiences to guide us on our journey to discover the ways in which we can have a meaningful contribution as individuals, as leaders and as a community.
You will also be treated to an exclusive tour of the station and studios, drinks and canapes as you network with like-minded young professionals.
Ashley Myatt, Regional General Manager, Southern Cross Austereo
Ashley is the Regional General Manager for Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) with over 20 years in the broadcast media and marketing industry. He currently oversees the NSW group of radio, TV and digital assets of SCA, including Newcastle, Gosford, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Canberra, Wollongong, Wagga Wagga, Orange, Dubbo and Griffith. Ashley will be speaking on his experiences in people leadership, change management, marketing and advertising, while parting his valuable wisdom on the meaningful contributions he has been able to make through the power of radio.
Nuatali Nelmes, Lord Mayor of Newcastle
Nuatali Nelmes is the Lord Mayor of Newcastle, returning for a second consecutive term following a general election held on 9 September 2017. Nuatali previously served as Councillor on Newcastle City Council for 6 years from 2008, before being elected Lord Mayor of Newcastle in 2014. Nuatali is only the second female Lord Mayor of Newcastle and she is the youngest Lord Mayor of Newcastle. Throughout her time on Council, Nuatali has championed the revitalisation of Newcastle’s coastline; and worked to improve vital Council services such as Blackbutt Reserve, pools and libraries, to provide all Novocastrians with equitable access to high-quality public facilities.
