First impressions are EVERYTHING! The HYP Keynote continued our 2016 innovation journey, this time focusing on personal branding and how to refine your professional image by developing and promoting a personal brand that creates credibility and communicates value.

Set in the chic Hunter Design School, over 80 guests mingled in Newcastle’s only private design school. Sprout complemented the evening with a wonderful selection of canapés and their renowned friendly smiles among the conversing guests.

The keynote speaker for the evening, Tony Hughes, had recently rebranded himself and so set the tone of the evening perfectly. Having left a role as Australian Managing Director of one of the largest CRM software providers in the world in 2014, Tony walked us through how he utilised popular social networking site LinkedIn to become the leading Sales Influencer for the platform in Asia-Pacific, recently ticking over 55,000 active followers of his blog. Tony explained how to establish your personal brand, build connections of influence and develop a value proposition through a profile of significance that prospective clients and future employers would take note of.

Developing a strong social media presence is key to standing out from the pack in 2016 so don’t just rest on your laurels and your weekend escapades on irrelevant sites to transform your career. Invest the time in establishing a strong personal brand on platforms of significance where your peers will discover and engage you.

HYP is challenging the networking norm, how we do it, where we do it and WHY we do it.
